LITEON Technology (2301.TW) is pleased to announce it has been awarded “Silver Class” in the Computers & Peripherals and Office Electronics industry in the 2022 Sustainability Yearbook published by the international sustainability evalsuation agency S&P Global. In addition, LITEON again received the highest rating of "Leadership" in the newly announced 2021 CDP Supplier Engagement Rating (SER).
“LITEON takes Optoelectronic energy saving and environmental sustainability as its core mission and aims to be the best partner in the sustainable value chain.” says Anson Chiu, President of LITEON, “to keep ahead of the curve, LITEON continues to keep pace with international sustainability standards, sets strict environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) indicators internally, and actively works with suppliers to jointly develop sustainable materials with low carbon emissions and reduce energy consumption in the manufacturing process. We focus on green innovation and hope to promote the construction of a circular economy in the industry.
In 2021, LITEON cooperated with the supply chain to develop LGS-7505, an ocean-waste recycled plastic that has obtained dual certification of traceability and performance. With external resources together, LITEON conducted an “Energy-saving Campaign” to help suppliers find the potential of energy saving in the manufacturing process, the program proposed 77 improvement plans, with a total energy saving potential of 10.93 million kWh. Furthermore, LITEON initiated the “Green Transformation Campaign,” to encourage our suppliers to conduct inventories of GHG emissions of the organization and the carbon footprint of products. In addition to energy-saving, LITEON asks our suppliers must guarantee safety in the workplace to protect the rights and dignity of their workers, therefore, in 2021, LITEON upgraded the mechanism of sustainability audit and risk management, invited the third party, conducted on-site audits and self-assessments of suppliers on key issues such as RBA and human rights to ensure suppliers fully implement corporate social responsibilities.
The 2022 Sustainability Yearbook is compiled based on the 2021 Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) annual evalsuation results, ranking more than 7,500 large companies in 61 industries around the world. In 2021 DJSI, LITEON has been listed in both the "World Index" and the "Emerging Market Index", which marks LITEON's 11th consecutive year of inclusion since 2011. CDP Supplier Engagement Rating is designed to evalsuate and spur action on corporate supply chain engagement, LITEON continues to promote the inventory of Greenhouse Gas Value Chain (GHG Scope 3), assisting customers and suppliers in energy-saving and carbon reduction. Among nearly 12,000 companies participating in the evalsuation around the world, LITEON achieved excellent results in the top 8% and was once again rated as a "Leaderboard" enterprise.
