According to “Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation Procedures for Verification and Disclosure of Material Information of Companies with Listed Securities”, LITEON defined significant environmental violation as one liable for a fine over 1 million NTD (about 33,000 USD). There was no significant environmental- pollution event transpired in the past 4 years under this definition.

2018
In September 2017, our VOCs treatment equipment in the Xianning Plant suffered a series of temporary shutdown problems for some unknown reason. We stopped part of the equipment for repair which led to the situation that our VOCs treatment system failed to cover all production departments and was fined of 100,000RMB (approximately 15,000USD) in 2018 by the local Environmental Protection Bureau. In order to strengthen our VOCs emissions control, enforce environmental management guarantee the stability of operation, and comply with the emission requirements, we purchased a new series of VOCs treatment equipment to effectively collect VOCs, and strictly inspect exhaust gas treatment equipment and regularly monitor to ensure that volatile organic compounds emitted meet the local emission standards.
2017
A leased manufacturing factory did not submit the Environmental Impact Assessment(EIA) in the year 2017 which led to a 100,000 RMB (about 15,000 USD) fine by the local environmental protection agency. The factory has acquired EIA in April 2018. We have to uphold the business principle with honesty and credibility to conduct internal rectification, enforce environmental management guarantee the stability of operation, and comply with the emission requirements in order to confirm the sustainable vision of LITE-ON.
